Just when everyone thought the wait was about over and the NTC had setup the auction for the 3G licenses spending millions of baht promoting and setting up, the CAT and TOT filed lawsuits to stop the 3G auction with various statements such as the NTC was not authorized to hold the auction due to the coup installed 2007 constitution that abolished the 1997 Thai constitution, and also stating that they would stand to lose billions of baht from concession fees from the 2G should subscribers switch to the new 3G.
